“I saw Ali perform to a group of full-grown adults huddled and cramped into the tiny basement at Ray’s and it was nothing short of pure magic. The whole room bubbled and swelled with something bordering on hysteria; it felt like we were kids in a secret tree house gang and Ali was our fearless leader. She so expertly manages to dance on the border of childlike wonder and teenage angst, combined with a dangerous, knowing twinkle in her eyes that hints at some absolute adult madness below. She is always a joy to behold, there is no one like her.
